    CFP – Rasanblaj Fanm: Stories of Haitian Womanhood, Past, Present and Future

    The University of Central Lancashire and the Digital Library of the Caribbean are excited to announce the call for papers for "Rasanblaj Fanm: Stories of Haitian Womanhood, Past, Present and Future". This three-day hybrid conference, to be held at the University of Central Lancashire (Preston, UK) and online between 10-12 July 2024, seeks to bring together scholars, creatives, activists and organisers engaging with issues relating to Haitian womanhood: past, present and future. Proposals for papers, panels, film/video presentations, workshops, and roundtables are due by 13 January 2024.

    Irish Association for American Studies annual conference: “Dis/Trust” (UCD, 1-3 May 2024)

    The annual IAAS conference will take place in the Clinton Institute for American Studies at University College Dublin on 1-3 May 2024. We welcome papers on the general theme of “Dis/trust” from all disciplines in American Studies, broadly defined. Abstracts of 200-300 words for 20-minute papers, along with an author bio of c.100 words, should be submitted by attachment to trust.ucd@gmail.com by 1st February 2024.     CFP: Historical Roots, Modern Realities: Nationalism Across the Americas | UCL Americas Research Network Online Conference | June 28, 2024

    University College London’s Americas Research Network is proud to launch the Call for Papers for its 2024 conference, Historical Roots, Modern Realities: Nationalism Across the Americas, to be held online on Friday, June 28, 2024. The Americas Research Network welcomes proposals that examine the complex and multifaceted roles of nationalism within the Americas, particularly through trans- and inter-hemispheric perspectives.

    Epistemic Crisis: Journalism, Academia and the Production of Knowledge

    Clinton Institute, University College Dublin 8-9 March 2024 Journalism and academia have interlinked yet divergent histories as forms of knowledge production. In recent years, partly due to the similar challenges they face – wide public distrust in institutions of knowledge and the erosion of public spheres – there are increasing signs of collaboration and cross-fertilisation, as well as shared anxieties about the future. Keynote Speakers include: Henry Farrell (Johns Hopkins University/Monkey Cage), Alexa Koenig (University of California Berkeley), Gary Younge (The Guardian).

    Kinder-BrANCH Fellowship 2024-25

    Applications are invited for the annual Kinder-BrANCH Fellowship for study at the University of Missouri during the 2024-25 academic year. The fellowship is open to students who have recently completed, or are slated to complete, their undergraduate studies at a British university. Applications from social groups that historically have been underrepresented in higher education, especially Black, Asian, and minority ethnic students, are particularly encouraged to apply.
