BAAS 2023 – Keele
We are delighted to invite submissions for the 67th annual British Association for American Studies conference at Keele University, which will be held between April 12 and April 14, 2023. We are also excited to announce Prof. Richard Blackett (Vanderbilt) and Prof. Louise Siddons (Southampton) as keynote speakers. Further details can be found on this page.

The 66th annual British Association for American Studies conference took place at the University of Hull, between the 21st and 23rd of April 2022. We welcomed the international American Studies community to this beautiful Yorkshire campus. Building on the successes of the 2021 Digital Conference, the Hull conference took place as a hybrid event.

Digital BAAS 2021 was the association’s first Annual Convention to be hosted entirely remotely. For several years BAAS has been building towards an event of this type, in order to transcend the exclusivity and waste of our traditional conference model. Our plans were pushed forward by our familiar enemy Covid-19 but are equally motivated by our twin concerns of environmental impact and accessibility/inclusivity.
