In this talk, Kimberley Johnson (NYU and Oxford) will outline the contours of Black political development in the 20th century and propose new perspectives on how Black politics might evolve in a time of increased polarization, rising inequality, changing socio-spatial demographics, and institutional instability.
The HOTCUS Winter Symposium 2025 will reflect on the 80th anniversary of the end of World War II and the significant impact of the war on American life, history, and culture. The symposium will take place at the University of Gloucestershire's FCH Campus in Cheltenham on Friday 21 February 2025, with keynote speaker Prof. Thomas Guglielmo of George Washington University presenting on 'Divisions & Quotients: The Aftermaths of US Military Racism during World War II.
