The Scottish Association for the Study of America (SASA) was formed in 1999 to encourage the study of the Americas in Scotland. This year marks our 26th Annual Conference and our 5th biennial postgraduate workshop which will be held at the University of Edinburgh on February 28th, 2025.
Our workshop aims to help postgraduates studying any aspect of the history, literature and/or culture of the Americas develop the knowledge and skills necessary to navigate the competitive job market after their doctorate. With sessions led by academics, early career researchers, heritage professionals and non-academic university staff we hope to create an environment that fosters constructive discussions, reflection and support for postgraduate students. We please ask all attendees to come prepared with any questions they may have on navigating the job market after their doctorate.
To register your attendance, please visit the following link.
Please note that places are limited and as our initiative is generously funded by SGSAH’s Cohort Development Fund priority will be given to doctoral students currently attending a SGSAH member university. Please register early to avoid disappointment.
Attendance will be free and tea/coffee and lunch will be provided. Please email scotamstudies@gmail.com with any dietary requirements, accessibility needs and/or other questions.
