US Politics and Modern History, BAAS Schools Conference

The annual BAAS schools conference returns to central Manchester, and is once more aimed at students taking US History or US Politics at A-level or equivalent qualifications. The event brings together scholars of the United States from across the UK, and will broadly consider the nature of power and influence in contemporary US politics and society. The event will include confirmed sessions on the role of Congress in the modern era; trade and tariffs in the era of Trump; and civil rights struggles in the twenty-first century. The conference will end with a roundtable and an audience-led Q&A.
Confirmed speakers including Professor Philip Davies (De Montfort University & Emeritus Director, Eccles Centre for American Studies); Dr Patrick Andelic (Northumbria); Dr. Elizabeth Ingleson (LSE); and Dr. Andrew Fearnley (Manchester).
