Why study #AmericanStudies? Today’s Tweets explore how American Studies fosters #creativity, #confidence, and #adaptability.
Feel free to tell us here how your modules speak to #CriticalAmericanStudies/ #ThinkingAmericanStudies,

Meanwhile, over at @NUAmStudies , #AmericanStudies modules on ‘#Contemporary America,’ ‘#LawAndOrder,’ the ‘#AfricanAmerican #Freedom Struggle,’ ‘Postwar American Literature,’ and ‘#Environmental History’ promotes student #understanding of major issues/ trends in the modern USA.
Over at @SussexAm, they run the #AmericanStudies #modules ‘American Political Culture’, ‘#Queer America’ and ‘#Women in America’. These modules broaden students’ horizons in their awareness of #cultural differences, while thinking critically about how & why things have developed.
For example @HullAmStuds, the department has a module focusing on current American issues that follows the news weekly. Utilising #criticalthinking, students address topics such as #fakenews, #misinformation, #MeToo, and the #culturewars, while also fostering #culturalawareness.
Welcome back, folks! Whether you study abroad as part of your studies, or you opt to stay home for your undergraduate studies, #AmericanStudies as an academic discipline proudly promotes #culturalawareness and #criticalthinking in various ways.
Time to do some thinking about #AmericanStudies and how the discipline promotes #criticalthinking and #culturalawareness.
