This is an event organised by the New Voices in Postcolonial Studies Network, and hosted by the University of Westminster. We envision this day as an opportunity for discussions surrounding the climate crisis, ecology, intersections of power and exploitation, and depictions of the nonhuman subject across media forms, particularly framed by U.S. context past and present. The day will be structured in a mixture of roundtables, a keynote paper, a guest panel, and a poetry reading as follows:

• Panel ‘Nationhood and Nonhumanity’
• Guest panel with Professor Heather Houser, Dr Christy Tidwell, and Dr Stephen Rust
• Poetry reading of ‘Ecotone’ by Alice O’Malley
