    BrANCH Peter J. Parish Dissertation Prize

    British American Nineteenth Century Historians (BrANCH) and the Peter J. Parish Memorial Fund are pleased to announce their dissertation prizes for the best pieces of work on American nineteenth century history. Two prizes will be awarded: one for the best dissertation written by an undergraduate, another for the best dissertation written by a taught postgraduate, who received their undergraduate or taught postgraduate degree in 2023, at a university or equivalent institution in the UK. The deadline for submissions to the Parish prize is November 3, 2023 - email e.r.west@reading.ac.uk

    2024 Research Fellowships at the Virginia Museum of History & Culture

    The Virginia Museum of History & Culture (VMHC) offers research fellowships of up to three weeks a year to promote the interpretation of Virginia and access to its collections. Fellowships carry a weekly stipend of $1,000 and $500 for local mileage. A week is defined as five days in the E. Claiborne Robins, Jr. Research Library, which is open 10am to 5pm, Monday through Saturday. The deadline for applications is January 26, 2024.
