    HOTCUS 2024 Annual Conference: Call for Papers

    Historians of the Twentieth Century United States (HOTCUS) is delighted to invite paper and panel proposals for our 2024 annual conference. The conference format will be fully in-person, at the University of Southampton, between 19-21 June, 2024. Our keynote speaker is Professor Randall Stephens of the University of Oslo.

    Bridging the Resource Gap Launch – Take A Look!

    Over the past two years, the Bridging the Resource Gap project has been working to create American Studies resources for students in further education.     Extended Deadline: BAAS Research Assistance Awards

    Please note The deadline for BAAS Research Assistance Awards 2024 has been extended to 4th February 2024. All other awards remain open to their specific deadline as previously shared.

    CFP: SANAS conference, University of Geneva, 7-8 November 2024 – “American Futurisms”

    The 2024 SANAS conference will take place at the University of Geneva (7-8 November) on the topic of "American Futurisms." Proposals for both 20-minute individual papers and 90-minute pre-formed panels are invited. A volume of selected conference proceedings will be published. Deadline for submissions : Monday 8 April 2024.

    Job opportunity: Senior Assistantship in English Literary Studies at the University of Zurich

    The English Department of the University of Zurich invites applications for a postdoctoral teaching and research position (Oberassistenz) in the field of English Literary Studies (British, North American and/or New Anglophone Literature and Culture) to start on 1 August 2024. This position is initially limited to three years, with the possibility of extension for a further three years. The position is open to candidates with a completed doctorate who are aiming for a Habilitation (or second book, the formal qualification for a professorship in the Swiss academic system).
