The co-editors of JAS are pleased to share this collection of our most downloaded articles – published in the last year, and across the journal as a whole – from the past year.

The collection represents the broad range of topics and methodologies that appear in JAS essays. New essays included within it consider the rise of right-wing populism in the contemporary Republican part, the influence of French existentialism on the Black Panthers, an overlooked period of CIA history, how periodical culture shaped a classic of Southern fiction, and the Cold-War imaginaries of table top role playing games.

JAS welcomes submissions from all areas of interdisciplinary American Studies. Prospective authors can find further information about the journal and its submission process here: https://www.cambridge.org/core/journals/journal-of-american-studies/information/author-instructions/.
