Our Doctoral Open Days are for current and prospective PhD students, as well as other researchers who are new to our collections. This session will be useful for researchers engaging with Caribbean, North American and Latin American collections at the British Library’s Eccles Institute for the Americas and Senate House, University of London.

Understand how to access our collections, get expert advice from our Reference Specialists and meet curators of collections relevant to your studies. The day includes:

• a drop-in session with our Reference Specialists, who can advise you on the practicalities of accessing our collections
• presentations by our curators, introducing you to their collection areas
• a Meet the Curators session, during which you can view highlights from our collections and talk to our curators about your research
• a roundtable discussion with a panel of researchers who make use of our collections exploring their research experiences. Get tips on how to navigate collections-based research based on the first-hand experience of library users, with the opportunity to ask your own questions.
