17th-Century British & Atlantic History: The talk traces the remarkable journey of Roger Williams, a former London Charterhouse scholar who carried radical English political ideas across the Atlantic, fundamentally reshaping early American governance.
The Evolution of Liberty: Professor Dawn will examine Williams’ pioneering, radical arguments for the separation of church and state, a concept that forged a complex relationship between society, law, and religion.
