dé’men minkanen is a community-driven initiative to honor and share histories of the Potawatomi Trails of Death. Institutionally located at the University of York (UK), we are working collaboratively with Potawatomi community members to foster education on the Trails of Death, Potawatomi culture, and coloniality more broadly in a UK and US context. In addition to our educational goals, we aim to incorporate regrowth and regeneration as a key point of focus through the centering of the Potawatomi language and a series of workshops for community members. At the panel, we will be coming together to learn more about the Trails of Death and discuss co-produced community work
