    American Nineteenth Century History Journal – BOOK REVIEW EDITOR(S) SOUGHT

    American Nineteenth Century History, the official journal of British American Nineteenth Century Historians (BrANCH), published three times a year by Taylor & Francis, seeks replacements for its current book review editors, David Cox (University of Southampton) and Dawn Wiley (University of Alabama). We would ideally like to appoint two editors, one based in the US and the other in the UK. Please apply EITHER as an individual OR as a duo.

    Federal Writers’ Project One-Day Symposium (Japan)

    A one-day symposium on the Federal Writers’ Project will be held in Japan on 30 June. Online participation is available.     Call for Chapters: Cognitive Literary Urban Studies: Embodied Cognition and Narrative Space – Extended Deadline

    We invite contributions for the interdisciplinary volume Cognitive Literary Urban Studies: Embodied Cognition and Narrative Space. Grounded in the framework of 4EA cognitive science (Varela et al. 2006), the volume includes chapters that demonstrate a clear application of key concepts from embodied cognition in their discussions of the processes and aftermath of embodied reading of affordances (e.g., city signs and textual cues) in (urban) narratives and and city spaces.

    TAACS’ Second International Conference: Justice and Morality in the North American Context

    The Tunisian Association for American Cultural Studies (TAACS) is pleased to announce its upcoming international conference, "Justice and Morality in the North American Context", to be held on October 23-24, 2025 at the Faculty of Arts and Humanities of Sousse, Tunisia. This interdisciplinary event invites scholars in American Studies to interrogate the evolving relationship between legal frameworks and moral imperatives in North American history, politics, media, and culture.
